Alis Pompeo

 

Alis Pompeo was born in Frascati (Rome), on the 2nd of February, 1987.
She started to play the guitar at the age of 6, and after seven years of classical guitar, Alis felt it was time to “change music” and to play modern music.

At 14, she began to study modern singing with vocal coach Lorena Scaccia.
Between 2002 and 2003, she began to write her own songs, inspired by her favorite songwriters: Tori Amos, Joan Baez, Stevie Nicks, Fleetwood Mac, Ani DiFranco, Peter Paul and Mary, Kate Bush.

At 18, in 2005, she signed a contract with an independent music label. “Fragments of Life” was her first album, written in English. The mastering was completed in Milan at “Nautilus Mastering Studio” and in New York at “Sterling Sound Studio”.

In March, 2005, Annalisa was invited to the Rossija Theatre, in Moscow (Russia), to sing and play some of her songs during an important TV national event. In that year, and during the days of the Sanremo Festival, she also performed an “Unplugged” session in Sanremo, playing her song “Woodstock” at Piazza Colombo. In July, she performed at the “Afrakà Rock Festival” in Naples, at the “Maxi Concerto PAX MUNDI” (aired by National Channel RAI 2), in Termoli (Molise).

In September and October, respectively, she was the music guest for “Una ragazza per il Cinema” (Italian National Channel RAI 2), Catania (Sicily), Palalottomatica of Rome for Music Box, Italian National Music Channel and for “Rai International” TV.
The following March, came the Showcase at Stratos, in Milan.

In May of 2006, she was one of the music guests for “Concerto per il cuore”, promoted by Radio Kiss Kiss Network at San Paolo Stadium of Naples and at
Zaccheria Stadium of Foggia. Alis has been also interviewed by many Italian radio stations, including, Radio Subasio, Radio Kiss Kiss Network, Radio 1 Notturno Italiano, Radio Marte, Studio 54 Network, Radio CRC, Radio Antenne Erreci: moreover, her two singles “It’s all over now” and “Wanderlust”, included in “Fragments of life”, have been broadcast on the official BBC of London radio.

Articles and newspapers: “ROLLING STONE” (May 2006), “Nice Premier” (Nizza, France) “Ragazza Moderna”, “Vero”, “Ola”, “Nick”, “Renok”, “Il Mattino”, “Roma”, “Il Giornale di Napoli”, “Latina Oggi”, Il Territorio”.
In 2008, she was a finalist artist at “Premio Fabrizio De Andrè 2008”, in Longiano (Emilia Romagna). The year after she receives the price: “Premio E. Caruso” città di Anzio e Nettuno and the same year she goes to Milan to play at “Legend 54”.
(2006 – Rome: commercial on the Rolling Stone Magazine)In 2010 her second album, “FUGA”, an experimental project with dark and acoustic sounds, in Italian language.


In 2012 she graduates in “Arts and Sciences of the Cinema” at “La Sapienza” University of Rome with a Ethnomusicology thesis in American folk music.
In April of 2014, Alis goes to the United States to play in some gigs in the Pennsylvania and Maryland areas, and it’s here that “Resonance” takes life.

In November of 2014, a collaboration with the american guitarist and composer, Jeff Poole, with whom she released a Christmas single in December:
“Peace…A Christmas Wish”.
