Joy - Original Soundtrack (2 lp)

The 2015 David O. Russell film starring Jennifer Lawrence (nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress and Golden Globe winner for Best Performance by an Actress) as entrepreneur Joy Mangano is notable for its eclectic soundtrack. The film incorporates classics by the Bee Gees, the Rolling Stones, Lee Morgan and Ella Fitzgerald, as well as a performance of “Something Stupid” by Ms. Lawrence and fellow cast member Edgar Ramirez, the song having been made famous by Frank and Nancy Sinatra. The soundtrack is bookended by Cream’s “I Feel Free,” and Alabama Shakes Brittany Howard’s emotional closing-credits rendition of the same song. This will be the first time Music From the Motion Picture JOY is available on the LP format. It will come as a 150 gram 12-inch double album, in gatefold jacket and on colored vinyl – blue with white swirl.
